Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the few forms of psychotherapy that has been scientifically tested and found to be effective in hundreds of clinical trials for many different disorders.
It is a way of talking about how you think about yourself, the world and other people and how what you do affects your thoughts and feelings.
Unlike some of the other talking treatments, it focuses on the ‘here and now’ problems and difficulties. Learn specific skills that you can use for the rest of their lives
Trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT) for adults is an evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
TF-CBT is one specific kind of CBT. A significant difference between the two is that, unlike regular CBT, trauma-focused CBT focuses specifically on the impacts of trauma.
It's used to help people who have experienced trauma find ways to manage hurtful behaviors and emotions. The goal of FT-CBT is to help reduce symptoms of PTSD and create a life worth living.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past experiences that are affecting your mental health and wellbeing.
It involves using bilateral movements combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format.
EMDR helps you process the negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that seem to be stuck.
The linkage between feeling and behavior is called a feeling-state. The Feeling State Addiction Protocol (FSAP) is used to break the link between a self-limiting / self-destructive behaviour.
The FSAP seeks to break the fixation between feeling and behaviour. The fixation is the underlying cause of the addiction(s), so by identifying the exact feeling and behaviour, the fixation can be processed using a modified form of the EMDR protocol. This allows the negative beliefs underling the compulsive fixation to be processed.
Once the fixation is broken, there are no further cravings or urges that have to be controlled, orbehaviour that has to be managed. In fact, the person is able to perform the behaviour in an appropriate manner.
Discover the freedom from negative images and feelings with Image Transformation Therapy (IMTT). ImTT is a gentle therapy that releases the pain, fear, guilt, and/or shame of trauma and other experiences without the person needing to intensely experience the feelings.
ImTT is totally unique because the person does not have to experience the intense pain, terror, guilt, and/or shame. In fact, the person is specifically instructed to not experience the feelings. In ImTT, experiencing the feelings actually interferes with the release process.
Instead, you are instructed to view the feelings as if from a distance. After the feeling is released with the PT Protocol, the vivid memory of the trauma is deconstructed using the Image De-Construction Protocol.
Integrative counselling maintains the idea that there are many ways to explore and understand human psychology - no one theory alone holds the answer. All theories are considered to have value, even if their foundational principles contradict each other - hence the need to integrate them.
The integrative approach may include elements of:
Person-centred therapy. This focuses on you rather than the counsellor being the expert on yourself, and aims to help you reach your full potential.
Psychodynamic therapy. This involves helping you to bring your subconscious into your conscious mind.
CBT This looks at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and helps you to change some of these where they are unhelpful using a variety of practical strategies and tools

Psychotherapy and counseling are types of therapy that can help boost mental well-being. Psychotherapy is typically a more in-depth, long-term process that focuses on a person's feelings and past experiences. It can lead to personal growth. Counseling, meanwhile, is more likely to refer to short-term talk therapy.
