At D R DOWNES & ASSOCIATES, we perform counselling psychotherapy & coaching practice’s in four locations across the North West.  We use a blended structure of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR).  Both models highly regarded and empirically proven psychological treatments, recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). These are especially relevant for the treatment of mental health conditions such as: anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, ADHD, ASD and trauma.

It’s fair to write we probably all become mentally ‘stuck’ at some stage of our lives.  With just under a third of the population, at least once in their lives, being regarded as fulfilling a criteria necessary for a diagnosable mental health condition. Whether relationships come to an end, howsoever. Work and our home life can get the better of us, with the opportunity for stress to increase in abundance. Then there’s how we’re all uniquely wired, a legacy of genetics and beliefs.

We will help you to become ‘unstuck’. It makes good sense to work with our clients on a 360 degree basis of what’s going on for them on the biopsychosocial model. Our clients wellness, alround, matters most. We use a blend of psychological therapies, coaching, mediation and training skills, in assisting individuals and businesses.
